MEET THE COACHES

Coach Ken Thomas

This year marks the 24th year in the Blue Valley District and the 22nd year at BVNW.  Originally from Lincoln Nebraska, Ken taught for two years at Overland Trail Middle School before moving over to join the original Husky staff in 1993.  Ken teaches Social Studies at BVNW and has been the primary Government and AP Government teacher since 1999.  Overall, Ken brings 28 years of coaching experience to the girl’s golf program.  At Northwest, he has coached football, both boys and girls basketball, track and baseball.

Ken believes in the importance of teaching the “whole” student including the academic, social, and athletic/activities realms.  Students who participate in activities and athletics learn many life skills that will allow them to become productive citizens and have successful careers throughout their lifetime.

Ken’s wife Lynae is an executive and bank auditor with the Bank of Blue Valley and they have two children Trevor and Taryn.  Trevor was a member of the class of 2013 at Northwest and was a three sport athlete during his career twice participating on state swimming teams.  Taryn is currently a junior and has been a starter for the varsity softball team since she was a freshman.  Of course, Ken would not want to forget the family golden retriever Rusty who has brought great joy to everyone in the family over the past 11 years.

Coach Carrie Lambkin

Carrie Lambkin is a first year golf coach at Blue Valley North West, but that does not mean she is new to the game.  She started playing competivly at the age of 6.  Contiued her career into high school which lead her to a scholarship at her local University in Quincy, IL. Since that time she has done a lot of work with the First Tee program and has played consistently since graduating in 2011.  Carrie feels her role to this team is to show them how golf can be fun and competitive at the same time!
